27/ Alwasleh Obtains Central Bank License to Launch Smart E-Payment Services in Jordan
Amman, Dec. 12 (Petra) -- Alwasleh, a subsidiary of OFFTEC Holding Group PLC (OHG), has secured a license from the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) to introduce secure and innovative e-payment services, including its proprietary Smart Limit Tool. This move reflects Alwasleh's compliance with all regulatory and technical requirements and its dedication to pioneering financial solutions in Jordan, said a statement released on Thursday. The CBJ license underscores Alwasleh's adherence to best practices in security and efficiency, ensuring protection against fraud and compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing standards. The company’s platform supports transparency and safeguards consumer interests while advancing financial inclusion. The licensed services include a secure e-payment mechanism via the Alwasleh app, enabling users to make payments using QR codes within its network. Additionally, Alwasleh will offer virtual credit cards that can be converted into physical cards, providing flexibility for domestic and international transactions. The Smart Limit Tool enhances customer access to the company’s ‘buy now, pay later’ service and introduces a medical limit feature, facilitating affordable medical services and expanding financial accessibility.
