22/ Aqaba Welcomes Polish Media Delegation To Boost Tourist, Investment Cooperation
Aqaba, April 10 (Petra) – Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Nayef Fayez, met with a Polish media delegation on Thursday to discuss collaborative efforts between ASEZA and Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), aimed at showcasing Aqaba’s "competitive" tourist and investment potential, positioning it as a "unique global" destination. Underscoring the significance of Jordanian-Polish relations, Fayez said the visit would bolster mutual cooperation. Fayez also outlined ASEZA's 2024-2028 strategic plan, which focuses on promoting tourism while preserving the region's "distinguished" environment. Fayez further highlighted Aqaba's "advanced" port infrastructure, which plays a "crucial" role in driving economic and tourism activity, as well as facilitating trade and tourism in the region. Hamza Haj Hassan, ASEZA's Commissioner for Economic Development and Tourism, emphasized Aqaba’s status as an "integrated" tourist destination, which offers a "wide" range of relevant experiences. Haj Hassan noted Aqaba’s "appeal is growing" in the Polish market, as ASEZA is "actively" working to attract Polish tourists within promotional campaigns and "strategic" partnerships. Additionally, he discussed the ASEZA's investment incentives, which coincide with the ongoing tourist projects and events designed to enhance Aqaba's "competitiveness as a key global tourism and investment hub." Meanwhile, Members of the Polish delegation praised Aqaba’s "significant" development, as well as the nearby Wadi Rum and Petra attractions, noting that these areas represent a "successful" blend of ancient heritage and modern growth. The delaegates expressed admiration for Aqaba’s diverse tourism offerings, including desert adventures in Wadi Rum, and highlighted the region’s potential as a "leading" tourist destination.
