46/ Jordan 'keen' to support Awqaf employees in Jerusalem-Minister
Amman, April 23 (Petra) - Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh, said the Cabinet's decision to amend assessment instructions of public sector jobs will apply to employees of Jordan-run departments of Awqaf and Chief Justice in Jerusalem. In a statement to "Petra," Khalayleh stressed "keenness" to support this target category of the ministry-affiliated employees in Jerusalem, in appreciation of their "steadfastness" and mission. The minister noted the step reflects Jordan's "pioneering" position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, in defending and preserving Al-Aqsa Mosque, alongside the political efforts exerted by Jordanian diplomacy. The minister said relevant measures to assess and set salaries for employees of the ministry-affiliated Directorate of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem Affairs will be based on the basic salary scale, as well as "Royal Steadfastness Allowance" of 400%. Additionally, he said an allowance will be granted to workers of Department of the Chief Justice in Jerusalem. To date, the ministry has employed over 750 employees at Al-Aqsa Mosque, at least half were appointed during reign of His Majesty King Abdullah II. //Petra// AG
