48/ UJ, U.S. Columbia University discuss academic cooperation
Amman, April 23 (Petra) – University of Jordan (UJ)'s Vice President for Academic Faculties, Dr. Ashraf Abu Karaki, on Wednesday discussed ways to strengthen academic cooperation with a delegation from the School of Nursing at U.S. Columbia University. The visiting delegation is headed by Dr. Jennifer Dohrn, Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean of Global Initiatives. During the meeting, the two sides discussed outcomes of the joint cooperation and ways to develop training opportunities for UJ nursing students. Discussions also went over opportunities for research cooperation and networking of the two universities' researchers and implementing faculty exchanges, and joint research, according to a UJ statement. Abu Karaki praised Columbia University's welcome to expand the base of joint cooperation in scientific research field, given its importance in enhancing the UJ's academic reputation in the nursing area. The UJ's College of Nursing annually receives graduate students from Columbia University for the Master's and Ph.D levels to receive training in various wards at the University of Jordan Hospital. //Petra// AG
