Amman, April 23 (Petra) -Anti-Narcotics Department (AND) on Wednesday organized a workshop, themed: "Awareness, Treatment, and Community Support for an Addiction-Free Future."

Held at the department's headquarters, the event is a "strategic" step within the AND's efforts to protect society from narcotics.

In an AND statement, youth engaged "actively", particularly community initiative owners, as well as representatives from governmental and private institutions.

The attendees discussed a slew of key issues, aimed to combat this phenomenon, mainly the psychological, health, and social impacts, as well as safe treatment mechanisms, legal challenges, and misconceptions related to the recovery journey.

The workshop, which is part of a "comprehensive" vision embraced by the Public Security Directorate (PSD), aims at raising community awareness and empowering youth to play a "robust" role in the counter-drug effort.
