56/ Education minister, Canadian ambassador tour 'Innovation in Education' exhibition
Amman, April 23 (Petra) -- Education Minister Azmi Mahafzah, Canadian Ambassador to Jordan Tariq Ali Khan and CEO of the Queen Rania Academy for Teacher Training Osama Obaidat visited the "Innovation in Education" exhibition. The exhibition showcased a variety of innovative projects developed by teachers and their students, focusing on areas such as the environment, technology and entrepreneurship. The aim was to highlight creative solutions and promote a sustainable educational environment. Coinciding with the International Day of Creativity and Innovation, the exhibition aimed to enhance communication and collaboration among innovative teams, the entrepreneurial community and startup owners. It provided a platform for teachers to present their projects to representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Canadian embassy and local entrepreneurs, fostering a culture of innovation in education and supporting pioneering practices in schools. The event served as a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences among various stakeholders in the education sector, contributing to the development of teaching and learning methods through innovation and opening new horizons for a more creative future. The exhibition featured a video presentation showcasing the creativity of students from various education directorates in the north, center and south of Jordan. The presentation highlighted the innovative projects developed by the students along with inspiring explanations of their ideas and their impact on their communities. The exhibition included a dialogue session with participants including a teacher, student, school principal, guardian and a community member. They discussed the programme's impact on the educational process, how it has fostered innovation and developed leadership skills among students and teachers and explored the challenges and future opportunities for supporting innovation in education. Organised by the Queen Rania Academy for Teacher Training, the exhibition took place today at the Sharif Abdel Hamid Sharaf Vocational Secondary School for Boys as part of the "Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Education" programme. The initiative is implemented under the project "Development of Educators in Government Schools in Jordan," in coordination with the Ministry of Education and with support from the Canadian government, with the goal of highlighting the role of innovation and entrepreneurship in enhancing the educational process. //Petra// AK
