Amman, April 23 (Petra) -- His Highness Prince El Hassan bin Talal held separate meetings with a delegation of the Communication, Thinking, Monitoring and Solidarity Group with the Christians of the East in the French Senate, and another comprising aides to members of the US Congress.

During the meeting with the French delegation, Prince El Hassan emphasised the importance of fostering dialogue in the region while respecting the unique identities of minorities and recognising their roles as active participants in shaping a shared regional future.

He highlighted the need for human solidarity among various Eastern communities to promote human dignity and collective action against polarisation and hatred.

Prince El Hassan reviewed the initiatives undertaken by the Royal Institute for Religious Studies to encourage dialogue among followers of different religions in the region.

In his discussion with the US Congress delegation, Prince El Hassan underscored the significance of cultivating a "will to stay" among the peoples of the East by enhancing economic, developmental and humanitarian opportunities that empower communities to remain in their own lands.

He warned against the increasing threat of sectarian divisions in the region and urged utilising the Great Rift Valley as a platform for cooperation, development and the promotion of human dignity.

He called for strategies grounded in factual realities, emphasising the need for a comprehensive approach to human development centered on human dignity as a fundamental principle.
