71/ Israel pursuing forced displacement of Palestinians under Guise of "Voluntary Migration," says Euro-Med Monitor

Amman, April 23 (Petra) – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has accused Israel of openly declaring and actively implementing a policy aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians from their homeland, particularly from the Gaza Strip, under what it describes as a thinly veiled narrative of "voluntary migration."

In a statement released Wednesday, the Geneva-based rights group said that Israel is no longer concealing its intentions and has begun articulating them in official rhetoric at the highest levels, while carrying out systematic field and institutional actions to give the crime a semblance of legitimacy.

The Monitor stressed that international silence has created a permissive environment that allows Israel to continue committing what it referred to as crimes with impunity, escalating to a level of blatant disregard for accountability.

According to the report, Israel is in the final stages of a mass deportation campaign targeting the Palestinian population, particularly in Gaza. The group accused Israel of committing acts of genocide over the past 18 months, resulting in hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries, the erasure of entire cities, and the deliberate dismantling of life-sustaining infrastructure in the enclave.

The Monitor highlighted that Gaza’s 2.3 million residents are now confined to less than 34% of the strip’s original 365 square kilometers, while 66% of the territory has become either inaccessible or forcibly evacuated due to ongoing bombardment and mandatory evacuation orders.

It further described the humanitarian conditions as catastrophic, with widespread famine, disease, collapsed public health and education systems, and a complete breakdown of essential services such as water, electricity, and sanitation. The group accused Israel of deliberately blocking aid and sabotaging reconstruction efforts, leaving most residents in decrepit tents and vulnerable to disease and starvation.

The Monitor concluded that the situation amounts to a systematic campaign of forced displacement and called on the international community to act urgently to prevent further deterioration.
