76/ Jordanian, Palestinian delegations visit Morocco to strengthen cooperative ties

Amman, April 23 (Petra) – A Jordanian official delegation representing the cooperative sector, alongside a delegation from the Palestinian Cooperative Work Agencyý, began a working visit to Morocco on Wednesday.
The visit, which will run through the end of the month, aims to enhance cooperation and knowledge exchange between the countries in the field of social and solidarity economy.

Nadia Khasawneh, head of the Jordanian delegation and director of public relations at the Jordan Cooperative Corporation, highlighted the significance of the visit during a reception by Lahcen Saadi, Morocco’s Secretary of State in charge of Traditional Industry and Social and Solidarity Economy, and Aicha Rifai, Director-General of the Moroccan Office for the Development of Cooperation.

Khasawneh noted that the meeting plays a key role in fostering cooperative ties and partnerships, particularly among Jordan, Morocco, and Palestine in the social and solidarity economy sphere.

She added that the delegation will hold a series of meetings with relevant stakeholders and conduct field visits to Moroccan cooperatives and institutions active in cooperative work.

The visit is part of efforts to implement a memorandum of understanding signed between the Jordanian Cooperative Corporation and Morocco’s Office for the Development of Cooperation during the 11th Asia-Pacific Cooperative Ministers’ Conference held at the Dead Sea last year. The MoU includes provisions to strengthen cooperative capacities and support income-generating activities for vulnerable social groups.

The delegation’s itinerary includes visits to several Moroccan cities, including Rabat, Meknes, Tangier, Tetouan, M’diq, Fnideq, Mohammedia, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, and Taroudant.

The program also features meetings with Moroccan officials and discussions on successful cooperative models across various sectors, along with field visits to showcase these experiences.

The visit aims to exchange expertise and explore new avenues for cooperation, thereby enhancing the role of cooperatives in the economic and social development of the three countries and supporting the development of sustainable joint initiatives.
