13/ Ministry of Education Highlights Progress in Inclusive Education Strategy

Amman, April 24 (Petra) – Secretary General of the Ministry of Education for Educational Affairs, Nawaf Ajarmah, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to promoting social justice and ensuring the right to education for all, with a particular focus on children with disabilities.

Speaking at an inclusive education event titled "This Is Me," organized Thursday by the Deir Alla District Education Directorate, Ajarmah highlighted the ministry’s efforts to integrate students with disabilities into the educational system on equal terms with their peers.

He noted that the percentage of students with disabilities included in mainstream education rose from 1.7 percent in 2020 to 7.4 percent in 2024, as part of the 2020–2030 Inclusive Education Strategy. The ministry aims to raise this figure to 10 percent by 2030.

Mizher Rahamneh, Director of Education for Deir Alla District, stated that the event coincides with the Kingdom’s celebrations of Flag Day and other national occasions. He emphasized that "This Is Me" embodies the ministry’s strategic objectives to enhance inclusion in line with national educational policies.

The event featured activities involving students with disabilities, underlining the principles of inclusion and educational diversity.
