Amman, April 24 (Petra) – The Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Dina Basheer, met on Thursday with Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee in the Georgian Parliament, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the field of parliamentary diplomacy. The meeting was attended by MP Hussein Amoush, head of the Jordanian-Georgian Parliamentary Friendship Association, and Georgian Ambassador to Amman Archil Dzuliashvili. Discussions focused on regional developments, including Jordan’s role in promoting stability and peace under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. Basheer highlighted Jordan’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and its efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state. She also underscored Jordan’s longstanding humanitarian role in hosting refugees and providing support for vulnerable populations. Committee members emphasized the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation and commended Jordan’s political reform agenda, which seeks to advance legislative, administrative, and investment frameworks. The Georgian delegation praised Jordan’s influential role in the Middle East and stressed the importance of ongoing cooperation between the two parliaments.
