Amman, April 26 (Petra) – Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq Masrour Barzani received Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi in Erbil on Saturday.

During the meeting, Barzani stressed Jordan's key role in promoting regional security and stability and the Kingdom's efforts to bring peace in the Middle East, urging closer relations between Jordan and Kurdistan region in various fields.

Safadi reiterated that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is exerting relentless efforts to bring about regional security and stability, end wars and conflicts, and enhance regional cooperation.

He stressed the importance of stronger ties between Jordan and the Republic of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

The meeting was attended by the Jordanian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Fuad Majali.
