21/ Momani offers condolences on passing of Pope Francis

Amman, April 26 (Petra) – Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani, on Saturday, extended his deepest condolences to Christian communities in Jordan and abroad following the passing of Pope Francis.

In a post on his social media accounts, Momani, who is also the government spokesperson, said, "Today, we bid farewell to a global symbol who carried the message of love and peace to every corner of the world. Pope Francis was a staunch advocate for human dignity and the rights of the marginalized, and he offered Jordan sincere affection through his multiple visits, believing in our country’s role as a land of divine messages and a cradle of human values."

He added, "Jordan will remain faithful to this love, upholding the great humanitarian legacy left to us by the Pope. Though his body has departed, the message of love and peace he championed will continue to shine among us, reminding us of the enduring importance of tolerance and coexistence."

Momani reiterated his condolences to Jordan’s Christian community, emphasizing that they are an integral part of Jordan’s national identity. "We all share this homeland, and we will continue to uphold the principles of cooperation and love advocated by His Holiness the Pope," he said.
