  26/ Price of 21-karat gold records JD68 per gram in local market

Amman, April 26 (Petra) – The price of one gram of 21-karat gold the most popular among consumers in Jordan stood at JD68 for selling and JD66 for buying at local jewelry shops on Saturday.

According to the Jordan Jewelers Association’s Secretary General, Ribhy Allan, the buying prices per gram for other gold purities were as follows:
- 24-karat: JD78.1
- 18-karat: JD60.6
- 14-karat: JD45.9

The price of a 7-gram Rashadi gold lira reached JD474, while the 8-gram English lira was priced at JD542.

Allan told Jordan News Agency (Petra) that there is "very strong" demand in the local market for lira coins, gold bars, and ounces for saving and investment purposes, though demand for jewelry items remains moderate. Meanwhile, supply is "almost nonexistent."

He added that gold closed its global trading session on Friday at $3,318 per ounce.
