3/ Jordanian Food Companies Set to Showcase Products at SIAL Canada
Amman, April 27 (Petra) -- A number of Jordanian food manufacturers are gearing up to participate in SIAL Canada, one of North America’s leading food industry exhibitions, taking place next Wednesday in Toronto. Organized by the Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), the Kingdom’s participation in the event reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen the presence of Jordanian-made products in the Canadian market. SIAL Canada attracts international attention, drawing major players from the global food sector and offering a valuable platform for networking and growth. Ahmad Al-Khudari, Chairman of the Association, highlighted that the Jordanian pavilion will span 126 square meters and will serve as a hub for showcasing high-quality local products. He noted that Jordan has been consistently represented at the event since 2012, given its strong potential to open doors to the North American market. In a statement released Sunday, Al-Khudari emphasized that the exhibition offers more than just a chance to display products; it’s also an opportunity for Jordanian companies to engage with the latest industry innovations, trends, and technologies. These insights, he said, are critical for boosting the competitiveness of Jordan’s food manufacturing sector on the global stage. He pointed out that Canada is a promising and strategic market for Jordan, particularly under the Free Trade Agreement signed in 2009. This was the first agreement of its kind between Canada and an Arab country and came into force in 2012. The deal allows Jordanian products to enter the Canadian market tariff-free, giving them a strong competitive edge. Haleem Abu Rahmeh, Director General of the Association, echoed these sentiments, describing Canada as a key export destination. He explained that while Jordan’s initial steps into the Canadian market were modest, persistence in marketing and a steadfast focus on quality have paid off. Today, Jordanian products are recognized for their excellence and competitive pricing, and interest in the Jordanian pavilion continues to grow year after year. Abu Rahmeh said Jordan’s food products have built a strong reputation among Canadian importers and consumers alike, thanks to consistent quality and adherence to international standards. He also reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to promoting other promising sectors, such as cosmetics, plastics, and agricultural goods sectors that continue to gain traction internationally. He noted that Canada’s multicultural society and growing appetite for Middle Eastern products make it a highly receptive market. The Association is actively developing long-term strategies to ensure Jordanian products have a lasting presence there. Abu Rahmeh concluded by highlighting the productive collaboration with the Canadian Trade Center, which has played a key role in fostering ties between businesses in both countries and facilitating stronger trade flows. //Petra// WH
