40/ Lebanese President, PM condemn Israeli strike on southern Beirut Suburb
Beirut, April 27 (Petra) Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Sunday condemned the Israeli attack on Beirut’s southern suburb. In a statement issued by the Lebanese presidency, Aoun called on the United States and France, as guarantors of the cessation of hostilities agreement, to assume their responsibilities and compel Israel to immediately halt its assaults. He warned that "Israel’s continued undermining of stability will escalate tensions and expose the region to serious risks threatening its security and stability." Prime Minister Nawaf Salam also condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, urging the countries sponsoring the security arrangements tied to the cessation of hostilities to act swiftly to stop the aggression and expedite Israel’s full withdrawal from Lebanese territory. //Petra// AF
