44/ Housing Bank reports net profits of JD40 million in Q1

Amman, April 27 (Petra) – The Housing Bank for Trade and Finance Group reported net profits of JD40 million after provisions and taxes for the first quarter of 2025, marking a 4.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Chairman Abdulilah Al-Khatib said the positive financial results demonstrate the bank’s strong financial position and reflect the success of its integrated policies, strategy, and comprehensive vision built on the group’s capabilities.

Al-Khatib added that the first-quarter performance highlights the bank’s efficiency and prudence in managing liquidity and allocating resources to maximize returns for shareholders.

Chief Executive Ammar Safadi reviewed the bank’s key financial indicators for the first quarter, which he said underscore the strength of its operating sectors and the group’s continued targeted growth.

Safadi noted that the solid results extend the bank’s track record of success and financial resilience, attributing the performance to a cautious strategy and flexible approach to economic challenges.

He said the financial results aligned with the group’s strategic plans, reinforcing its strong standing in the banking sector and its ability to achieve sustainable growth.

Return on equity rose to 11.6% in the first quarter, while return on average assets increased to 1.7%, reflecting operational efficiency and effective asset and liability management, according to Safadi.

The group also posted a 5.2% rise in net credit facilities since the start of the year, reaching JD4.8 billion by the end of March 2025. This growth positively impacted overall income, operating profit, and market share.

Customer deposits grew to JD6.0 billion by the end of the first quarter, and the group maintained a robust capital base, with total shareholders’ equity at JD1.4 billion and a capital adequacy ratio of 18.3% above the regulatory minimum set by the Central Bank of Jordan and Basel Committee requirements.
