21/ Aviation Commission, Future Skills Fund Sign Agreement to Support Youth Training in Aircraft Maintenance
Amman, April 29 (Petra) – The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) and the Future Skills Fund signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday aimed at supporting vocational and technical training in aircraft maintenance for youth across Jordan. The agreement was signed by Captain Haitham Misto, Chairman of the CARC, and Zaid Arida, Executive Director of the Fund. It sets out the program framework and eligibility criteria, aligning with the needs of both CARC and the Fund. The initiative will provide financial support for students seeking to enroll in aircraft maintenance engineering programs and obtain a Jordanian aircraft maintenance license. Training will be delivered in cooperation with accredited maintenance academies and aviation companies in Jordan. The program is based on an income-based repayment model, in which students repay a portion of their future salaries after entering the workforce, with no interest or additional fees, until the full amount of support is recovered. Misto underscored the importance of the partnership in advancing CARC’s goal of strengthening technical training in aircraft maintenance and aligning it with both domestic and international aviation sector demands. He also praised the role of the private sector and the Fund in empowering youth and supporting long-term career development. Arida emphasized the Fund’s commitment to enabling youth access to quality vocational education in collaboration with specialized institutions in the aviation field. He noted that the program is funded by the German government through the German Development Bank (KfW). //Petra// AO
