Amman, April 29 (Petra) – Ministry of Health on Monday has secured Social Government Award for the "Best Content on Health Sector" category for the 2nd consecutive time.

The recognition demonstrates the ministry's "commitment" to fulfilling the Royal directives, which urge the health sector to exert "utmost" efforts to preserve public health and improve provision of "high-quality" healthcare and preventive services to meet the society's health needs.

In a statement on Tuesday, the ministry said results of the 2nd round of 2024 Social Government Award on Social Media Platforms will be announced during the winners' ceremony, hosted by the United Arab Emirates from April 28-29.

Director of the Health Awareness and Media Directorate, Dr. Ghaith Owais, received the award on behalf of the Ministry of Health, during the honoring ceremony, which was attended by representatives from the Arab countries participating in the competitions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Owais noted the "important" achievement came within engagement of all stakeholders and supporters of the Kingdom's health sector, aimed to orchestrate efforts in publishing and communication areas across digital platforms.

Owais added that this endeavor would also enhance level of Jordan's public health services and meet community health needs in the areas of awareness and community participation.

This vision, he stated, would be fulfilled by implementing the "best" practices for "adequate" communication with all segments of society, given their "effective" role in contributing to alleviating the health, social, and economic burden on individuals and society.
