Amman, April 29 (Petra) – Minister of Transport Wissam, Tahtamouni, on Tuesday discussed with Kazakh Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Madiyev Zhaslan, prospects for joint cooperation in the aviation sector.

The talks, which were held at the ministry's headquarters, focused on exchanging expertise in the fields of modern technology, innovation, and modern aviation applications, as well as reviewing opportunities for building "strategic" partnerships in the aviation sector and digital transformation.

Speaking at the discussions, Tahtamouni underlined the "deep-rooted, brotherly" bilateral relations, adding that this meeting affirms the "shared" desire to strengthen joint cooperation.

Tahtamouni stated that the meeting represents an "important" opportunity to exchange knowledge and explore "new" areas of "constructive" cooperation, especially amid the world's current rapid developments in the fields of digital transformation, innovation, and the aviation industry.

Tahtamouni indicated the Ministry's "readiness" to support any move aimed to establish joint projects, based on integrating modern technology to serve common interests, contribute to "sustainable" development, and keep pace with global changes in this vital sector.

Meanwhile, the Kazakh minister expressed his country's pride in the "good" bilateral relations, noting his desire to expand joint cooperation in the fields of modern technology, mainly in the aviation sector, which is witnessing "significant" growth and development.

Affirming his country's "readiness" to exchange expertise in modern aviation technology, he hoped that discussions would lead to establishment of projects and partnerships with Jordan to serve common interests.

The minister noted this visit follows the trip of Kazakh President, Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev, to Jordan and his talks with His Majesty King Abdullah II.

During the visit, he said the two countries signed an agreement and 4 memoranda of understanding to enhance cooperation in the fields of investment, industry, energy, trade, and media, referring to previous agreements in transportation, higher education, technology, culture, agriculture, and others.

Today's meeting comes within the framework of Jordan's efforts to strengthen its international partnerships in the technology and logistics sectors and benefit from advanced international experiences in digital transformation and innovation, particularly in the aviation sector, according to a Ministry of Transport statement.

Concluding talks, the two ministers exchanged commemorative shields, reflecting the "depth" of relations and their aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of common interest, thus strengthening friendship bonds.
