48/ Prince Faisal welcomes delegation from "Hope and Dreams" Sports Festival

Amman, April 29 (Petra) – HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee and member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee, received a delegation from the "Hope and Dreams" Festival on Tuesday.

The visiting delegation was led by Chungwon Choue, President of the World Taekwondo Federation. It also included Leonz Eder, President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), and Dale McMann, President of the World Baseball Softball Confederation.

Prince Faisal welcomed the delegation to Jordan and expressed his appreciation for the festival, which aims to highlight the role of sports in the lives of youth living in refugee camps.

He praised the work of the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation in using sport as a tool for social development and a source of hope for refugees, commending its initiatives to empower young people in the camps.

The third edition of the "Hope and Dreams" Festival is scheduled to take place in Jordan from Wednesday through Saturday and is expected to be the largest yet. The event will give athletes from refugee camps the opportunity to compete in six different sports.

Choue noted the festival’s growing impact, saying, "The Hope and Dreams Festival has become one of the most significant annual events for World Taekwondo and the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation. We are proud to see it evolve into a multi-sport event that inspires refugees and youth."

This year’s edition will include handball for the first time, alongside the sports featured in last year’s program: taekwondo, basketball, baseball, badminton, and 3x3 basketball.
