6/ Jordan Post Unveils 2025 Stamp Series Celebrating Arabic Calligraphy

Amman, April 29 (Petra) – The Jordan Post is set to release a new commemorative stamp series celebrating the rich heritage and artistic beauty of Arabic calligraphy. The collection will be available to the public and philatelists starting Wednesday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the company announced that the 2025 edition includes six uniquely designed stamps, each valued at 25 piasters, alongside a special card priced at 50 piasters. The full set is offered at a total of JD2. Collectors can also purchase a first-day cover featuring the complete stamp set for 2.5 dinars, as well as a postcard available for 25 piasters.

The new issue pays tribute to Arabic calligraphy as a timeless art form that reflects the cultural depth and historical identity of the Arab and Islamic world. Known for its graceful curves and expressive strokes, Arabic script has long been a symbol of both spiritual expression and artistic mastery. This release features some of the most iconic calligraphic styles, including Thuluth, Diwani, Ruq'ah, Ijazah, Naskh, and Nastaliq.

Stamps from this edition will be available at the Stamps Department at Jordan Post’s headquarters in Al-Muqabalain as well as at key post offices throughout the country. These include locations in Jabal Amman, Al-Luweibdeh, Downtown Amman, Abdali, Irbid, Madaba, Aqaba, Jerash, Petra, Karak, Ajloun, Salt, Fuheis, and the Jerash Visitors Center.
