59/ Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza performs rare surgery for teenage patient
Amman, April 29 (Petra) – Medical teams at the Jordanian Field Hospital South Gaza/6 successfully performed a rare surgical procedure on Tuesday to remove a branchial cleft cyst and related lymph nodes from a 15-year-old patient, as part of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to provide vital healthcare to the people of Gaza. The hospital’s director stated that the patient had sought treatment after being unable to undergo the operation for over a year. A specialized medical team from the hospital conducted the surgery, effectively ending the patient's prolonged suffering. Since the mission began on April 21, the field hospital has treated 8,176 patients, performed 61 major and minor surgeries, and fitted 27 upper and lower prosthetic limbs, bringing the total number of prosthetics fitted under the "Hope Restoration" initiative to 449. //Petra// AF
