17/ NCSC implements cybersecurity project to boost Petra's visitor services
Petra, August 19 (Petra) -National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) launched the first phase of the executive program for implementing "Jordanian National Cybersecurity Framework" at Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA). According to a PDTRA statement, the step is part of a "comprehensive" implementation plan that includes 100 institutions from the Kingdom's public and private sectors during the current year. On the first day, a coordination dialogue was held at the PDTRA's headquarters, chaired by Chairman, Dr. Fares Breizat, and other competent officials, to review technical standards of the national framework and requirements for implementation in public institutions. The statement added that this entire vision aimed to raise "cyber readiness and enhance the efficiency of countering growing digital threats." Talking at the meeting, Breizat said the launch of the first phase reflects the PDTRA's "commitment" to strengthening digital infrastructure and protecting data in one of the world's key tourist sites. This step, he noted, is part of ongoing efforts to enable secure PDTRA's digital transformation, contribute to develop a modern and safe work environment, and enhance "efficiency" of services provided to visitors and the local community. //Petra// AG
