  5/ Jordan's industrial sector exports at JD3.291b in 5 months 2025-JCI 

Amman, August 23 (Petra) - Jordan's industrial sector exports reached JD3.291 billion during the first five months of this year, compared to JD3.097 billion for the same period last year, marking an increase of 6.3%, statistical data from the Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) showed.

According to data obtained by "Petra," exports from the 7 sub-industrial sectors recorded increases, with the "highest" rise registered in the construction industries sector at 107%, while the the lowest was seen in mining at 0.3%.

Conversely, the data revealed exports from the other three sectors went down, namely medical supplies and equipment, electrical engineering, and information technology, by 1% each, while wood and furniture dropped by 12%.

Based on the JCI figures, industrial sector exports during the January-May period of the current year were focused in the chemical and cosmetics industries at a value of JD737 million, followed by leather and textiles worth JD689 million and engineering and information technology at JD618 million.

Exports from the mining industries amounted to JD423 million, while exports from the food, supply, agricultural, and livestock industries reached JD383 million.

Meanwhile, exports from the therapeutic and medical supplies industries reached JD233 million and plastics and rubber products stood at JD72 million.

The remaining exports included construction industries at a value of JD63 million, while those from packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies stood at JD58 million and wood and furniture at JD16 million.
