9/ Health Minister launches Government Hospital Award
Amman, Aug 23 (Petra) – Health Minister Ibrahim Al-Badour launched the Distinguished Government Hospital Award on Saturday to prompt public hospitals to raise efficiency and ensure quality healthcare services. Chairing a meeting of senior ministry officials, Al-Badour said the institution is pressing with efforts to enhance the performance of the health system, improve the "patient journey" and provide quality service without delay. Today's meeting is part of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan's government's line to promote coordination and integration between executive bodies within a unified vision with the primary aim of providing efficient and fair service to the public. The hospital award initiative, he pointed out, falls within the framework of the Ministry's commitment to supporting institutional excellence, encouraging healthcare and administrative staff to innovate, and achieving highest performance standards, he pointed out. The award will go to hospitals with outstanding records in patient safety, customer satisfaction, digital transformation, and operational efficiency, thus promoting a culture of continuous improvement, the minister pointed out. The Ministry's focus in the next phase will be on three main standards; discipline, efficiency, and accountability, he stressed, urging senior hospital and health department staff to set a model, demonstrate team spirit, and "work diligently without complacency or excuses." He asked every health directorate and hospital to submit a quarterly performance report, adding that patient satisfaction will be a key factor in the evaluation process, and that it will be measured directly or electronically. Al-Badour also pointed to a master plan to raise the efficiency of medical and nursing staff, adding that the ministry is reassessing the mechanism for purchasing health services. He said digitization of the health sector is a key part of a comprehensive national vision adopted by the Ministry of Health, given its direct impact on the quality of service to patients. //Petra//SS
