  13/ SSC: 15,000 people received unemployment benefits in H1 2025

Amman, August 24 (Petra) - The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced 14,792 insured persons benefited from its unemployment benefits during the first half of this year, with a total amount exceeding JD10 million.

According to a SSC statement on Sunday, 342,000 insurees received unemployment benefits since the service was implemented in September 2011 until last June 30, with a total amount exceeding JD315 million, while disbursements topped 1,178,000.

To benefit from the service, the SSC said the beneficiary must have paid 36 minimum subscriptions before the eligibility date is due.

The SSC added that the beneficiary must also reach the age of 60 for men, or 55 for women, who must submit the application online.

The corporation stated this benefit is paid monthly for a period of up to 3 months if the number of his social security subscriptions is less than 180.

In this case, the individual receives 75% of his last SSC-covered salary for the first month, while 65% and 55% rates are paid for the second and third months, respectively.

Meanwhile, the insuree is paid 45% of the set amount are paid for the fourth, fifth and sixth months if their subscriptions reach 180 subscriptions or more for a period up to 6 months.

The SSC indicated that the maximum limit for the net unemployment benefit is currently JD612.
