14/ 4 journalists among 20 killed in Israeli strike on Gaza hospital, 24 die of famine

Gaza Strip, Aug. 25 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Health in Gaza said Monday that 20 Palestinians, including four journalists, were killed in Israeli bombing of Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza.

An additional 24 people, including two children, died of famine and malnutrition, raising the total number to 300, including 117 children.

The ministry said Israeli forces targeted the fourth floor of the hospital in Khan Younis before striking the site again, and ambulances and civil defense crews arrived to evacuate the victims.

The attack on the hospital, and the targeting of medical crews, civil defense staff and journalists is part of the systematic destruction of Gaza’s health system and the continuation of genocide, it said.

The ministry appealed for immediate international action to protect medical and humanitarian workers in Gaza.

The journalists targeted in the Israeli strike were: Hussam Al-Masri, cameraman for Palestine TV, Mohammad Salameh, cameraman for Al Jazeera, Mariam Abu Dakka, correspondent for Independent Arabia, and Moaz Abu Taha of the US NBC TV network.
