22/ Jordan condemns Israeli bombing of Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza
Amman, August 25 (Petra) – Jordan condemned on Monday Israel's bombing of the Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza which killed and injured scores of Palestinians, including journalists and humanitarian workers. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs described the bombing as a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law and the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War. Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah said that Jordan rejects Israel’s continued war on Gaza. He denounced the systematic targeting of civilians, hospitals, journalists, medical personnel and civilian infrastructure, as well as the destruction of essential facilities that provide critical services to the people of Gaza. Qudah condemned Israel's ongoing use of siege tactics, including starvation, as a means to forcibly displace Palestinians, warning that such actions fuel cycles of violence and instability that threaten the security of the entire region. Qudah called on the international community to to compel Israel to cease its aggression immediately, ensure the unimpeded delivery of sustainable humanitarian aid to Gaza and uphold the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital. //Petra// AK
