Amman, August 26 (Petra) – Director of Public Security Directorate (PSD), Maj. Gen. Dr. Obeidallah Maaytah, met in his office on Tuesday with a delegation from the Syrian Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, headed by Assistant Minister for Emergency Affairs, Munir Mustafa.

During the meeting, Maaytah affirmed the PSD's "commitment" to maintain support to its Arab counterparts, based on Royal directives in this field, aimed to consolidate foundations of civil protection and emergency response.

The director indicated that the PSD is continuing to strengthen joint security and humanitarian cooperation and coordination, enabling the two countries' capability to take preventive and strategic measures to deal efficiently and professionally with various challenges.

For his part, Mustafa praised the PSD's "advanced" level, including all its formations, and its unique capabilities and specialized units in various fields of operations and expertise, calling for leveraging its training expertise and accumulated experience.

Mustafa expressed Syria's gratitude and appreciation, its leadership and people, for the "exceptional" efforts made by the Jordanian firefighting team during its participation in extinguishing fires that broke out in Latakia governorate.

Mustafa commended the Kingdom's rapid response in supporting the Syrian side, which is an extension of Jordan's "historic" stances in supporting Arab and foreign countries.
