  6/ National Exports Rise 9% in H1 of 2025

Amman, Aug. 26 (Petra) --The national exports increased by 9% during the first half of 2025, reaching a value of JD 4.379 billion, compared to JD 4.018 billion for the same period last year.

According to the monthly foreign trade report issued Tuesday by the Department of Statistics, re-exported goods rose by 1.2% in the first half of this year, amounting to JD 431 million, compared to JD 426 million during the same period last year.

Total exports of the Kingdom during the first half of this year rose by 8.2%, reaching JD 4.810 billion, compared to JD 4.444 billion for the same period last year.

Imports during the first half of this year amounted to JD 9.539 billion, up from JD 8.883 billion in the same period last year, reflecting a 7.4% increase.

The trade deficit (the difference between total exports and imports) reached JD 4.729 billion during the first half of the current year, an increase of JD 290 million compared to JD 4.439 billion in the same period last year, marking a 6.5% rise.

The export coverage ratio of imports remained steady at 50% during the first half of this year, the same as the corresponding period last year.

Regarding the monthly performance for June of this year, total exports reached JD 872 million, including JD 801 million of national exports and JD 71 million of re-exports, while imports amounted to JD 1.404 billion. This resulted in a trade deficit of JD 532 million for June.

Total exports increased by 7.0% compared to June of last year, with national exports rising by 8.1% and imports by 0.9%, while re-exports declined by 4.1%, leading to a 7.6% decrease in the trade deficit.

The coverage ratio for June alone reached 62%, compared to 59% in the same month last year, an increase of 3 percentage points.
