Amman, Aug. 27 (Petra) -- The Honorary Consul of Uzbekistan in Jordan, Luay Abu-Ghazaleh, has described the recent state visit of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein to the Republic of Uzbekistan as a historic milestone in the advancement of relations between the two countries. In remarks to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized that the visit, which concluded successfully this week, underscored the deep mutual respect and shared aspirations of Jordan and Uzbekistan, serving as a vivid testament to the friendship and solidarity uniting the two countries. During high-level talks in Samarkand, His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan held fruitful and substantive negotiations that opened a new chapter of partnership. The discussions concluded with the adoption of a joint statement to enhance bilateral cooperation and the signing of 14 key agreements covering vital sectors including investment protection, visa facilitation, higher education, tourism, agriculture, and transport. These agreements, Abu-Ghazaleh noted, create a solid foundation for long-term collaboration. "The importance of this visit cannot be overstated," Abu-Ghazaleh said. "It has reinforced political dialogue between our countries and laid practical mechanisms to expand trade, investment, cultural, and humanitarian exchanges.
