24/ Prince Rashid Patronizes Graduation Ceremony for Taekwondo Program
Amman, Dec 13 (Petra)- HRH Prince Rashid bin El Hassan, President of the Jordan Taekwondo Federation, on Saturday presided over the graduation ceremony for the first phase of the Taekwondo program in youth centers, organized by the Ministry of Youth in cooperation with the Jordan Taekwondo Federation. The ceremony was attended by Minister of Youth Raed Adwan, South Korean Ambassador to Jordan Kim Pil-woo, Secretary-General of the Ministry Mazen Abu Baqar, Amman City Director Raad Mirza, and Secretary of the Federation Faisal Abdallat. Adwan highlighted that Prince Rashid’s patronage of Taekwondo has been a key driver in the sport’s national development, contributing to Jordan’s regional and international standing within the royal vision led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, and with the support of HRH Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee. He noted that the Ministry of Youth, in partnership with the Taekwondo Federation, has developed a training pathway in youth centers aimed at utilizing young people’s time, enhancing their physical fitness, and instilling discipline and sportsmanship, underlining the belief that investing in youth is the most important investment for the future. Abdallat described the program as a pioneering national initiative to empower youth, develop their physical and behavioral skills, and strengthen values of discipline and self-confidence. He emphasized that Taekwondo is among the most popular sports in Jordan and has achieved notable successes regionally and internationally, thanks to the support of the Hashemite leadership and the guidance of Prince Rashid. Abdallat also praised the support of the Prime Minister and the pivotal role of the Ministry of Youth, noting that the partnership between the Ministry and the Federation represents a successful model of institutional cooperation, which will be further expanded to include more youth and sports across the kingdom.
