Amman, Dec. 14 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, on Sunday received Turkish Ambassador Yakup Caymazoglu.

During the meeting held at the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF), Huneiti discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in defense fields and review the latest regional and international developments.

For his part, the Turkish ambassador expressed appreciation for the Kingdom's "pivotal" role, under King Abdullah II's the leadership in supporting the region's security and stability.

The diplomat also called for maintaining joint cooperation to serve interests of the two countries' armed forces.

Turkish military attache in Amman and a number of senior JAF officers attended the meeting.
