  7/ Public Security Athlete Claims Bronze at UMWF Weightlifting Championship

Amman, Dec. 14 (Petra) -- Jordanian weightlifter Sohaib Al-Farrarjeh secured the bronze medal in the men’s under-88 kg category at the UMWF Grand Masters Weightlifting Championship, held in Florida, United States, marking another international achievement for the Public Security Directorate’s weightlifting team.

The championship attracted 650 athletes from 25 countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, India, China, Lebanon, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, and the host United States, reflecting a high level of global competition.

Al-Farrarjeh finished third overall, earning qualification for the 2026 World Championships, after recording a total lift of 256 kg, with 117 kg in the snatch and 139 kg in the clean and jerk.

The medal adds to Al-Farrarjeh’s growing list of international accomplishments, which include gold medals at the Japan International Masters Championship and the Albania International Championship, as well as silver medals at the Arab Clubs Championship and the Asian Clubs Championship.
