10/ Oman National Defence College Delegation Visits House of Representatives
Amman, Dec. 15 (Petra) -- A delegation from the National Defence College of the Sultanate of Oman paid an official visit to the House of Representatives on Monday, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Jordanian–Omani relations and expand cooperation across multiple fields. During the visit, the delegation met with MP Hussein Krishan at the parliament headquarters, where discussions focused on enhancing bilateral ties and reinforcing the longstanding fraternal relations between the two countries. Krishan highlighted the depth of Jordanian–Omani relations, noting that they are built on mutual trust and a shared commitment to advancing cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of both peoples. He also outlined Jordan’s approach to political reform, emphasizing efforts aimed at strengthening party-based political life and expanding public participation in decision-making, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the work of the Royal Committee to Modernize the Political System. Krishan further briefed the delegation on recent constitutional amendments supporting the political reform process, explaining the constitutional mandate of the legislative authority, as well as the legislative and oversight roles of the House of Representatives, including its operational mechanisms and committee structure. Members of the visiting delegation expressed their appreciation for the depth of the historical and fraternal ties between Jordan and Oman, reaffirming their interest in further strengthening cooperation across various sectors.
