3/ World Cup Qualification Opens a Global Digital Window for Jordan

Amman, Dec. 22 (Petra) -- Jordan’s historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup is being viewed by technology and digital media experts as far more than a sporting achievement. It is a rare opportunity to introduce the Kingdom to global audiences through a modern, confident, and engaging digital presence.

Experts told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that in today’s interconnected world, digital content has become a decisive tool in shaping how nations are perceived. With billions of viewers following the World Cup, Jordan’s participation presents a strategic moment to showcase its identity, culture, and achievements in ways that extend well beyond the football pitch.

Bashir Al-Dweiri, a specialist in computer networks and cybersecurity at the American University of Madaba, said the World Cup functions as a global meeting point for cultures and societies. He noted that Jordan can use this platform to highlight its unique character as a country rich in history, tourism, and human values, provided that creative and well-planned digital storytelling is developed through coordinated national efforts.

Such content, he added, should be led by Jordanian creators and supported by media and tourism institutions to ensure consistency, professionalism, and long-term impact. This approach would not only strengthen Jordan’s international image but also support tourism, investment, and local talent.

IT consultant Engineer Abdulhamid Al-Rahamneh emphasized that Jordanian digital creators have already played a key role in presenting a positive image of the Kingdom through authentic and voluntary initiatives. With Jordanian football now gaining global visibility through World Cup qualification and regional achievements, international audiences are increasingly curious about the country behind the team.

This curiosity, he said, makes it essential for Jordan to be prepared with a clear and unified digital strategy that introduces the Kingdom’s history, culture, stability, and people in a compelling and contemporary way.

Digital marketing expert Yazan Nofal described the World Cup as the most influential sporting event in the world, offering Jordan unmatched exposure. He explained that smart, creative content linked to World Cup trends can connect Jordanian identity with universal sports values, human stories, and cultural narratives, rather than relying on traditional promotional messaging.

Nofal stressed that success depends on collaboration between official institutions, media platforms, and content creators to deliver an authentic and appealing image that resonates with global audiences.

Meanwhile, digital transformation consultant Engineer Bilal Al-Hifnawi said Jordan’s qualification for the 2026 World Cup marks a turning point in redefining the country’s national brand, particularly in major markets such as the United States. He noted that the tournament offers Jordan the chance to move beyond traditional tourism branding and present itself as a youthful, innovative, and forward-looking nation.

He concluded that the World Cup is not just a football event for Jordan, but a global stage on which the Kingdom can tell its story, one that blends deep historical roots with a digital, future-focused vision.
