15/ Jordan Business Leaders Discuss Expanding Cooperation to Support National Economy
Amman, Dec. 27 (Petra) – President of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) Ayman Al-Alawneh discussed with President of the Amman Chamber of Commerce Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq prospects for cooperation and partnership between the two sides in support of the national economy. According to a JBA statement on Saturday, Al-Alawneh stressed the importance of unifying efforts to facilitate business activity and open new avenues for cooperation among Jordanian businessmen across various economic sectors, noting that there is a shared vision toward developing the national economy and promoting sustainable growth. Al-Alawneh said there is a need to activate joint initiatives between the chamber and the association and coordinate efforts to serve the Jordanian business community while working to raise the efficiency of commercial and economic performance in a way that enhances Jordan’s regional and international standing. For his part, Al-Haj Tawfiq, during the meeting held at the association’s headquarters, stressed the importance of developing the trade and services sectors locally and enhancing Jordan’s competitiveness at the regional and international levels through unifying efforts between the chamber and the association. He said the chamber is keen to cooperate with the association to support the national economy, promote Jordanian exports of industrial and agricultural goods and services, and facilitate the flow of trade between Jordan and countries around the world, in addition to organizing joint trade delegations and twinning commercial relations with brotherly and friendly countries. Al-Haj Tawfiq said that ongoing cooperation between the two sides, at a meeting attended by members of the boards of both the chamber and the association, constitutes an effective platform for coordinating efforts and facilitating commercial procedures in a manner that serves the interests of Jordanian businessmen and supports economic growth. //Petra// AF
