16/ PSD deploys 2,093 personnel; 558 vehicles to secure traffic on New Year's Eve
Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) – Brig. Gen. Raed Assaf, Director of the Traffic Department at the Public Security Directorate (PSD), outlined the key features of the department's traffic plan to manage traffic flow during the Kingdom's New Year's celebrations. Assaf noted the plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety of citizens nationwide. In a statement on Tuesday, Assaf indicated that approximately 2,093 traffic personnel and 558 multi-purpose vehicles will be deployed countrywide to guarantee smooth traffic flow and maintain public safety during all celebrations. Under this year's traffic scheme, he noted the Kingdom is divided into traffic-based sectors, which encompass the capital, Amman, and traffic departments in various governorates. This procedure, he stated, facilitates direct communication with the main operations room and enhances speedy decision-making and addresses any traffic issues. Assaf added that the plan focused on facilitating the citizens' movement under extensive deployment of traffic officers to manage celebrations and heavy traffic expected in certain locations on New Year's Eve. Assaf confirmed that traffic management personnel and vehicles deployed for this purpose will provide the necessary services to citizens and ensure the highest levels of public safety during the celebrations. //Petra// AG
