28/ House speaker, Moroccan envoy talk ties
Amman, December 30 (Petra) – Speaker of the House of Representatives Mazen Qadi on Tuesday met with Moroccan Ambassador Fouad Akhrif to discuss ways to strengthen parliamentary cooperation. Qadi highlighted the depth of Jordanian-Moroccan relations, noting their shared support for the Palestinian cause and the defence of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian holy sites. He added that balance and moderation have long characterised the policies of both Jordan and Morocco, as the two countries share values of dialogue, tolerance, moderation and a unified stance within the Arab and Islamic worlds. Qadi called for enhancing economic cooperation and increasing trade volume to reflect the strength of bilateral relations. For his part, Akhrif affirmed that relations between Jordan and Morocco are historical and deeply rooted. He noted that the positions of both countries consistently aim to support the interests of Arab and Islamic nations, pointing to the ongoing coordination and consultation between the two leaderships. He presented Qadi with an official invitation from Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi El Alami to visit Morocco for talks. //Petra// AK
