30/ NCSC responds to 839 cyber incidents in Q3 2025-Report
Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) – A total of 839 cyber incidents were dealt with during the third quarter of this year, marking a 13% decrease, compared to the second quarter. According to the Cyber ??Security Situation Report for the third quarter of 2025, issued by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) on Tuesday, the cyber cases that were addressed are categorized by severity as follows: 1.6% critical, 89.4% medium risky and 9% low severe. The third quarter of 2025 also saw a drop in the percentage of organizations that suffered hacking attempts, standing 11%, compared to 25% in the second quarter of this year. The report reviewed statistics on vulnerability and breach assessments across the Kingdom's government sector. These assessments, conducted to identify vulnerabilities on institutional websites, uncovered a total of 64 critical and high-risk security flaws across the main websites of 115 government institutions, the report revealed. The report indicated that the coming period is projected to witness "more sophisticated and complex cyber threats." This future situation requires development of advanced proactive security strategies by implementing appropriate security-based solutions, execution of security audits and assessments of digital assets, use of cutting-edge monitoring and surveillance tools for systems and networks. On other procedures, the report added that action yo update detection mechanisms and technologies for such attacks is needed, as well as keeping pace with the latest information to prevent, protect against, and mitigate threats. //Petra// AG
