Amman, Dec. 30 (Petra) - The army’s Eastern Military Zone intercepted a smuggling attempt early Tuesday involving large quantities of narcotics transported by balloons fitted with improvised guidance devices, the armed forces said.

Border guard units detected the balloons and engaged them inside Jordanian territory in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized drugs were handed over to competent authorities for legal proceedings.
