  45/ Tourism Minister meets ACOR board president

Amman, Feb 26 (Petra) – Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Annab, met on Wednesday with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the American Center of Research (ACOR), Edward Gnehm, and ACOR Executive Director, Pearce Paul Creasman, to discuss cooperation in archaeological and tourism research, student exchange programs, and joint scientific projects.

The meeting, attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Fadi Balaawi, explored the possibility of implementing academic exchange programs for students and researchers, strengthening partnerships in archaeological projects that highlight Jordan’s heritage and contribute to its development and preservation.

Discussions also covered the organization of joint scientific activities between the Ministry and ACOR to support archaeological and tourism research and enhance knowledge about Jordan’s historical sites.

Annab emphasized the importance of this collaboration in advancing the tourism sector and providing new educational and training opportunities for Jordanian students and researchers.

For his part, Gnehm reaffirmed ACOR’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Jordanian institutions, underscoring the significance of Jordan’s rich cultural and historical heritage and the importance of knowledge exchange in deepening the understanding of shared heritage.
