26/ Jordanian MP reviews King Hussein Bridge facilities, praises support for Palestinian pilgrims

Amman, June 11 (Petra) – Head of the Lower House Palestine Committee, MP Suleiman Al-Saud, on Wednesday visited the King Hussein Bridge Security Directorate to assess services and facilities provided to travelers, particularly Palestinian pilgrims departing for or returning from the holy sites in Saudi Arabia.

During his visit, Al-Saud met with senior officers from various security agencies stationed at the site and conveyed greetings from the House of Representatives. He commended the efforts of the bridge security administration and its staff for ensuring smooth and dignified travel, especially during the Hajj season. He highlighted their work in upgrading facilities, ensuring transport readiness, and expediting passenger procedures.

Al-Saud toured the Hajj City compound at the bridge, which had been prepared in advance to provide a safe and comfortable environment for pilgrims. The site includes first aid stations, air-conditioned waiting halls, and modern sanitary facilities, reflecting the authorities’ high level of preparedness.

He also met with representatives from the Palestinian Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs and several returning pilgrims, who expressed deep gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II and to all Jordanian security and administrative personnel for their hospitality, professionalism, and the seamless services they experienced throughout their journey.

Al-Saud reaffirmed Jordan’s historic and unwavering stance, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, in defending the Palestinian cause and supporting the Palestinian people on all fronts. He emphasized that Jordan’s logistical and humanitarian efforts at the bridge are an extension of the kingdom’s steadfast commitment to its Palestinian brethren.

Brig. Gen. Rasheed Al-Shishani, Director of the Bridge Security Directorate, said a comprehensive plan had been implemented to streamline crossings and avoid delays. He noted that over 6,500 Palestinian pilgrims had been received and facilitated over the past two days, thanks to the continuous joint efforts of the security and service teams.
