13/ Thirteen Killed, Over 200 Injured by Israeli Fire Near Aid Center in Gaza

Amman, June 12 (Petra) – Thirteen Palestinians were killed and more than 200 others injured on Thursday after Israeli forces opened fire near an aid distribution center close to the Netzarim checkpoint in the central Gaza Strip, according to medical sources.

The sources reported that the victims were struck while gathering near the center to receive humanitarian aid. This incident follows a series of recent attacks by Israeli forces on aid distribution points in both Rafah and central Gaza, which have led to dozens of casualties.

The United Nations has expressed concern that these repeated attacks may constitute efforts to forcibly displace civilians, describing them as indicative of a broader strategy of ethnic cleansing.

On Wednesday alone, 57 Palestinians were killed and 363 injured while waiting for assistance under the "US-Israeli aid mechanism." Since May 27, the total number of casualties at aid distribution sites has risen to 224 dead and over 1,858 wounded, according to medical sources.

Observers have also criticized aid centers operated by the Israeli-American Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, an entity not recognized by the United Nations, describing the centers as "mass killing traps," with conditions that have forced many civilians to flee in search of safety.
