13/ RJ operates additional flights after airspace closure
Amman, June 14 (Petra) – Royal Jordanian (RJ) Saturday announced additional flights to various destinations on Saturday to accommodate passengers who were unable to travel on Friday due to the temporary closure of the Kingdom's airspace. The national carrier is operating additional flights within available resources, whether from Amman Airport or from external stations, to make up for passengers who were unable to travel on schedule, said RJ Vice Chairman/CEO Samer Majali. All travel is back to normal after the company resumed scheduled flights and the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission opened the Kingdom's airspace Saturday, as planned, he said in remarks to Petra. RJ asked passengers to head to the airport on scheduled dates, complete travel steps, and check its website for any flight updates. Yesterday, the company, upon a Civil Aviation Authority order, announced a temporary suspension of air traffic, but later said most Amman-bound flights that were diverted, had actually returned to the capital. //Petra//SS
