24/ Industry Minister talks promising opportunities to boost Jordanian exports

Amman, June 14 (Petra) -- Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah announced that there are promising opportunities to increase Jordanian exports across various sectors to multiple markets.

The opportunities, he said, are driven by the Kingdom's competitive advantages, which enable its industrial products to penetrate new markets and strengthen its presence in traditional ones.

During a meeting with the boards of directors of the Chambers of Industry on Saturday, Qudah discussed several issues facing Jordanian exports.

He highlighted that the first quarter of 2025 saw a significant rise in exports compared to the same period last year. The government has also introduced several decisions aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Jordanian industry.

Qudah explained that the government is actively coordinating with the industrial sector to address any obstacles faced in foreign markets. This involves follow-up with relevant authorities in those countries and taking necessary measures to facilitate export processes.

Fathi Jaghbir, head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, discussed the Ministry of Industry and Trade's "vital role" in maintaining communication with industry chambers and private sector representatives.

This collaboration aims to remove barriers hindering production and to boost the competitiveness of the sector both locally and internationally.

Jaghbir noted plans to hold regular meetings between the Minister of Industry and other relevant ministers to discuss issues affecting the industrial sector and work towards resolving them.

Increasing Jordanian exports is expected to contribute significantly to alleviating poverty and unemployment by creating more job opportunities for Jordanians.
