30/ Authorities issue updated guidelines when sirens go off
Amman, June 14 (Petra) -- The National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) reiterated on Saturday its guidelines for Jordanians to ensure safety during ongoing events, especially when hearing sirens. In a social media post, NCSCM called for following safety procedures to protect the public. It urged residents to remain indoors and avoid leaving their homes when sirens sound, as well as to stay away from windows until the alert ends. The Centre advised against using elevators to reduce the risk associated with potential power outages and instructed to immediately call 911 in case of injuries or damage. For those in vehicles or other means of transport, it recommended pulling over safely to the side of the road and remaining inside the vehicle. The centre called on the public to avoid gathering in incident areas to allow relevant authorities to carry out their duties effectively. //Petra// AK
