17/ GJU, Malaysian APU discuss academic cooperation
Madaba, Mar. 12 (Petra) – President of German-Jordanian University (GJU), Dr. Ala'aldeen Al-Halhouli, discussed with a delegation from the Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), cooperation in boosting scientific research and global rankings, as well as holding scientific conferences and student and faculty exchange programs. During the meeting on Wednesday, which came within the framework of the joint memorandum of understanding, Al-Halhouli affirmed the GJU's keenness to explore opportunities for joint cooperation and its readiness to showcase its academic capabilities and enhance partnership mechanisms. Meanwhile, Director of APU's Strategic Research Institute (SRI), Dr. Mohammad Falahat, said the university has begun, in recent years, to shift towards scientific research and academic publishing efforts, with a focus on innovation and sustainability areas. Falahat added that a research project is "underway" in Uzbekistan to study integration of electric-powered vehicles into the national energy grid, in cooperation with TNB Malaysia. Falahat said the model could be applied in Jordan under a research alliance between the two universities and some partner campuses in Germany. //Petra// AG
