23/ GIM issued 7 tickets for health violations in Irbid

Irbid, Mar. 12 (Petra) – Irbid Health and Public Safety Committee Wednesday destroyed 150 kilograms of meat and 44 trays of table eggs, totaling 79 kilograms, which are unfit for human consumption.

In statements, Dr. Ali Hawamdeh, Assistant Governor of Irbid for Health and Public Safety Affairs, said the committee removed 30 stalls for encroaching on public roads and sidewalks, announcing Greater Irbid Municipality (GIM) issued 7 tickets for health violations.

Hawamdeh noted the committee has "strict" instructions to address food-related violations as "a red line and a top priority," indicating that inspection tours in the governorate are ongoing, both morning and evening shifts, to detect any possible irregularities.

Since the beginning of Ramadan, he said the committee has seized expired food and meat and has also spotted establishments that breached sanctity of the holy month, suspended others from operation, and warned dozens for health violations.

Hawamdeh called on citizens to cooperate with the committee, who is comprised of various stakeholders, to tip off any food-related concerns, adding that all reports will be treated with "complete confidentiality and that appropriate action will be taken immediately."
